The main purpose of Rummy is to create certain ranks as shown below :
1. 3 sets of cards or more that share the same rank like 8?-8?-8?. as well as;
2. 3 or more cards shown in sequence like3?-4?-5?-6?-7?.
The card rank is arranged as :-- A-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-J-Q-K.
Ace is the lowest possible ranked card. Here A-2-4 is a substantial sequence while A-K-Q is not. Gin Rummy ( Gin ) is a favoured and uncomplicated two person card game.
Game Rules
Rummy is played with 2 players who are both dealt 10 cards each and one card that is dealt face up in the center of the table. The other cards are placed on the side of the table placed faced down. The dealer is decided after each game.
Each player needs to try and form various sequences using their cards. Once you have created one, you need to state this and place your cards face down on the table. If sequences match, then one must at least be a running down sequence e.g.: 5, 4, 3 or king-queen-jack, then this player has won the round.
Hints & Tips to Winning:
Try getting rid of your high cards first and keep the low cards. Once a winner is declared, the points are added up, according to numerical value.
Keep an eye on what cards the players are picking up, if a card that you want has been picked up, get rid of that sequence while still being careful how you do this as these are the cards your opponent wants.
